Contact Lenses

We have extensive experience in fitting and managing all types of contact lenses for our patients. We manage all types of eye conditions; short and longsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia requiring multifocal lenses.

Mr Patel’s many years of experience in dealing with challenging cases enables him to look after patients of all levels of complexity from high myopes and hypermetropes (extreme short and long sightedness) to those with rare eye conditions such as keratoconus or those who have undergone corneal surgery; for example corneal transplants or laser eye surgery.

All of our lenses are sourced from reputable UK or US suppliers such as Johnson and Johnson, Coopervision, Ciba Vision and No7 etc. As we are not tied to a particular manufacturer we use contact lenses that are best suited to your eyes and needs..

We are pleased to announce that we will be reopening our practice, however to keep you and our staff from the COVID-19 we have put the following measures in place:

APPOINTMENTS: To observe social distancing we will be controlling the number of people in the practice at any one time therefore we kindly ask all patients to call ahead (0161 973 3674) to arrange appointments for spectacle adjustments, collection of glasses or the choosing of new frames.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Your safety and that of our staff is our number one priority and we have strict procedures in place for that reason. Staff will be wearing face masks for any direct contact with patients and full PPE in our consulting rooms.

HYGIENE: You will be asked to sanitise when you enter the practice and we request you wear a face covering. All frames that are tried on are disinfected, in addition surfaces, including ophthalmic equipment, that are touched are cleaned between us seeing patients in any part of the building. We are taking all these measures in line with guidance to ensure your safety and that of our staff.

EXAMINATIONS WITH RETINAL IMAGING: With social distancing in mind it is difficult to rely on basic eye examination techniques such as ophthalmoscopy. As such we strongly recommend that all NHS eligible patients upgrade to include retinal imaging which is not covered by the NHS Sight Test. The fee for imaging being £12.

OUR APPRECIATION: It's been a tough time for all of us however we were delighted in serving the urgent and essential needs of our patients during the lockdown. We thank everyone who has supported us so far and look forward to serving our patients and the wider community for a long time to come.
